LinkedIn is now the single largest social media source of traffic to this website, accounting for 25% of our visitors. If it's been a while since you last updated your LinkedIn profile, consider this a timely reminder. With its significant growth over recent years, LinkedIn now offers innovative creator tools, enabling better communication with your audience. Explore features like LinkedIn Newsletters and LinkedIn Live Video to enhance your online presence.
So how do you get started with using these new LinkedIn tools?
Step 1
Go to your LinkedIn profile and scroll down to the resource section
Step 2
Flip creator mode to on, and then click on the word ‘Creator Mode'
Step 3
This Creator Hub pop up appears, and you can add the topics you talk about the most, and if available you can add LinkedIn Live and Newsletters.
Both creator tools; LinkedIn Live and Newsletters allow you to share content directly with your connections. LinkedIn live helps you build rapport and connection, and the Newsletter allows you to stay in touch. You can use both to drive traffic back to your website.
Once you've activated your LinkedIn Creator tools, the next step is to optimise your LinkedIn Profile.
You can add in links to the featured section:
You can click the pencil icon and edit the featured section.
In mine I have the link to my LinkedIn Newsletter, my two main services, and the blogging challenge. This gives the curious the opportunity to click through and get to know me more, and join the blogging challenge if they want to double their traffic.
LinkedIn also own Slideshare, the most popular slideshow sharing site in the world. Now, you can post your PowerPoint decks and link to them in your profile. You can also share them on your newsfeed, to attract more views. This is a great opportunity to showcase your portfolio, services and other areas of expertise. Remember to add your website links into your slides footer, so your viewers can click through to your website.
